As a small boutique studio, all work is overseen by founder, Tahn Scoon, a Home Beautiful stylist and trained interior decorator and designer. We pride ourselves on offering a high level of service with clear and efficient processes in place.

After 10 years presenting and producing for radio (ABC and commercial), Tahn Scoon transitioned to writing and styling for interiors magazines. In the last 15 years Tahn has styled over 100 homes for some of Australia’s most loved publications, predominantly Home Beautiful but also Country Style, Home Design, Queensland Homes, Real Living and Australian Women’s Weekly.
During this time, she re-trained in interior decorating and design, and launched Tahn Interiors to create beautiful interiors for private residential clients. Whilst initially a side business to media work, the success of Tahn Interiors means it is now Tahn’s focus, and today she only takes on occasional magazine commissions.

Tahn has also authored three interior design books for New Holland Publishers – all featuring ways to incorporate vintage pieces into the home – and is a regular guest on ABC Radio Brisbane, sharing interior styling tips and tricks.
She lives in a leafy, brookside suburb of Brisbane/Meeanjin with her daughter, Saska, and their kitten, Bluebell. When not working on her business, Tahn spends her free moments walking in local bushland, indulging in her love of green tea and dark chocolate, and attending (beginner!) ballet class.

Yes. Though we have help with administration on the backend, and styling assistance on install days, all interior design and face-to-face work is with Tahn direct.
We choose to keep the studio small, and only offer a limited number of client spots per year, as we deliver a very high level of service.
The initial two-hour consultation is $550. This is a working meeting, which means we offer as much advice and practical solutions as we can during this time. Should you wish to proceed with our full service, you’ll be quoted a flat fee upfront.
As a general indication, the concept design fee for a premium full-service open plan living/dining/kitchen starts at $5250. If you love the concept and wish to go ahead with purchasing, there is an additional (smaller) custom purchasing fee.
We also have a ‘furniture only’ option, if you’re wanting help but don’t necessarily require a premium full-service offering. Contact us for more information.
Once you’ve accepted our proposal, we aim to have the presentation ready within 4 to 8 weeks (dependant of size of project). Ordering and installation will take a further 4 to 12 weeks (occasionally longer for some custom or out-of-stock items). If you’re on a tight timeframe, please chat to us about how we might help with a faster turnaround.
Yes. It’s imperative to start with a good base. We provide the most beautifully resolved paint and finish schedules in a digital format, which you can simply pass on to your builder and trades. Please contact us for more details and examples of previous design work.

Not necessarily. Tahn works intuitively to unearth your own unique style, one that works for you, your lifestyle, your family and the architecture of your home. If you have an idea, or a Pinterest board, that’s wonderful, but don’t worry if you don’t, we can help.
We’ve happily always managed to pinpoint the right aesthetic for our clients and have never once been asked to re-do our scheme (though small tweaks, deletions and additions are a common part of the post-presentation process). Please see testimonials to hear our clients’ delight firsthand.
All our interior design services are for non-structural elements. All construction advice should be sought from your builder and relevant trades. We do not manage or engage trades for any structural work on your behalf.
We do however engage trades and services on your behalf for cosmetic work such as painting, and art, wallpaper and curtain installation.
