INTERIOR STYLING MORNINGSIDE

Urban Coastal

Project:
These clients had a sixties home and had engaged a draftsperson and builder for a major renovation but were surprised at how many decisions had to be made, and how early they had to be made.

Our role:
We were happy to provide detailed interior and exterior paint schedules, and finish and fixture schedules, so everyone was on the same page, and the clients could feel less stressed and more comfortable with all the aesthetic decisions being confirmed.

Highlights:
Our clients were attracted to coastal-style homes, but didn’t know how to achieve this on a leafy inner suburban street. Often, it’s the ‘feel’ of a style someone is after. So, we used ‘coastal’ elements such as the soft white and green colour palette and incorporated natural materials such as the timber stools and handmade ceramic pendants but kept the scheme clean and sophisticated to fit its urban environment.

The outcome:
A light and airy cohesive home reminiscent of summer holidays by the sea but anchored in its inner-city setting. The kitchen, which went from 90s beige cabinets and red tiles to whisper soft green and white, was featured in Home Beautiful Dream Kitchens magazine.
